I love my neighborhood and my home. We moved here a few years ago because our old neighborhood was changing. The local public school was going down hill, and we knew we needed to make a change. My kids now go to a great public school,, and we have access to everything we need. We chose this neighborhood specifically because the school district is so good and the area is really nice and well taken care of. Our kids are so important to us, and we just want them to have the best opportunities. We knew that they would love it here and jumped at the opportunity to move. There is also a lot of shopping nearby, so that is really convenient for me. It would be a nightmare if I had to make a long trek every time we needed something from the store. Although I feel very comfortable in our neighborhood, I felt that I needed to add some extra security to our home, just for peace of mind. I contacted Total Alarm Systems and got our family a great home security system. I feel much better knowing that I am taking active steps to feel safer.

When was the last time you have used a landline phone for personal use? It used to be that a business will thrive as long as there is one landline phone. That was two decades ago. Ten years later, more people have gotten themselves a mobile phone. Basically, the reason is so that there will be no missed call and the owner can call someone when needed even while in the middle of commute. The ability to communicate through text messaging (SMS) has been a blessing also especially for those who are financially hard up. When the ability to connect to the internet has been incorporated in phones, many do stay in touch via Facebook, check their mails, download videos (especially for those with large capacity memory cards).

Over the years, the way people show children and grandchildren what they used to be, what they have experienced, what they have enjoyed, are through a series of pictures neatly arrayed in a picture album. Videos of weddings and other important occasions are also stored and brought out during get togethers. Sadly, there are times when they get lost to accidents like being consumed by fire and drowned under water like flash floods.

When I woke up today, dear hubby told me not to ever upload pictures from my phone online and turn off GPS as well. Like any father, he's not comfortable as well of posting our kid's photos on the internet, particularly in my blogs. According to the news report, pictures or photos you've e-mailed or uploaded from your smartphone or mobile phone could leak information which could threaten your safety or that of your kids. Pretty scary, isn't it?

I lived down the street from the Augusta National Golf Course (where they host the Master’s Tournament). The Master’s is one of golf’s most revered titles. Every professional golfer dreams of winning the green jacket. Golfers that aren’t of professional caliber dream of getting to play the course. It is a private club and is very exclusive. Several years ago they couldn’t decide if they were going to let Bill Gates be a member—imagine that! I have heard crazy stories about security at the National. The security is not just adt in their club house. It is twenty-four hour staffed security. I heard a story one time that some kid hopped the fence. Within two minutes there were spotlights on him. Within ten minutes, there was a helicopter with spotlights on him. The Augusta National Golf Club doesn’t take security lightly. It is not surprising as the tickets for the Master’s Tournament are one of the hardest, if not the hardest to get in the world of professional sports. I feel lucky to have been able to go to the tournament twice! Some people will try all their lives and never get a chance to get on the course.

I'm sure a lot of you might be already aware of the advantages of due diligence checklist. When I arrived in the U.S a decade ago, I was not so familiar with the computer yet; Yahoo Messenger and Skype were not part of my life yet. But since I had to keep in touch with my folks back in the Philippines I had to find the most available way to reach them. Thanks to the operator assisted conference call that made it easy to reach them. It was so much fun because it was a once-a-month habit where my family would be together and I get to talk to all of them.

A "burn in" is one of the major problems that your TV Screen or LCD would experience. It is a permanent discoloration of certain areas on your LCD screen. It could be frustrating because while you want to watch your favorite tv show or enjoy a good family time over a good movie, those discolorations actually distort the image.

When using the LCD for a lecture or in a meeting, it could also be annoying that you would not give the best presentation because of this problem. You could also be in the middle of writing an important email using your laptop and all these discolorations would not give you the concentration you need to get your work done. So these are just small things but could be very important. It needs to be fixed!

Several years ago, I lost over a thousand of pictures, important files and documents and songs caused by computer virus infections. To be honest, I cried due to the fact I wasn't able to recover the majority of them. It absolutely was an eye opener in my opinion. Ever since then, I made the decision to backup anything onto CD/DVD. Then dear husband also bought an EHD to use.

The documents and data files may be lost as a result of human errors or formatting of hard drive. Oh, popcorn, popcorn, popcorn! Why are you so yummy? Wow, this is my daughter's favorite junk food, but since I know that it is not a healthy choice, I try my best to control her from eating too much. But when we are out and she would see a pop corn store, she would really insist that we buy her.
