I lived down the street from the Augusta National Golf Course (where they host the Master’s Tournament). The Master’s is one of golf’s most revered titles. Every professional golfer dreams of winning the green jacket. Golfers that aren’t of professional caliber dream of getting to play the course. It is a private club and is very exclusive. Several years ago they couldn’t decide if they were going to let Bill Gates be a member—imagine that! I have heard crazy stories about security at the National. The security is not just adt in their club house. It is twenty-four hour staffed security. I heard a story one time that some kid hopped the fence. Within two minutes there were spotlights on him. Within ten minutes, there was a helicopter with spotlights on him. The Augusta National Golf Club doesn’t take security lightly. It is not surprising as the tickets for the Master’s Tournament are one of the hardest, if not the hardest to get in the world of professional sports. I feel lucky to have been able to go to the tournament twice! Some people will try all their lives and never get a chance to get on the course. Labels: Blogging, Electronics, Home and Garden |
