There are numerous talk shows that I enjoyed watching with my family. One of these talk shows is Dr. Oz Show. The host of this show is the popular Dr. Mehmet Oz. who is the Professor of Surgery at the Columbia University and director of the Cardiovascular Institute and Complimentary Medicine Program at the New York Presbyterian Hospital.

I enjoyed watching this show because it is very educational and it is also appropriate for the entire family. Have you ever been told by your doctor that you have high cholesterol or high blood pressure? If so, I am sure that your doctor had prescribed medications to aid in controlling your medical condition. By watching the Dr. Oz show, you will learn that there are alternatives for curing illness rather than using medications. I remember a friend of mine back home who used to be an intern for a local TV network. The local TV network produced some local variety shows, gag shows, drama shows and the local news program. At the network's office, she was assigned at the Production Department as Production Assistant or PA. Her main duty was to help the other production staff and bigwigs in the production of the local shows. For example, when there are casting calls, she took care of the lists of those who auditioned and during casting call auditions, she would help out in the short-listing. At a casting call one time, she met unexpectedly some of her classmates who would want to try out for a role.

Her other duties were to write some of the scripts for some of the shows, took care of some of the exchange deals with sponsors for the shows and even escorted some celebrities. During tapings and shootings, she would also join get hold of the idiot boards for the hosts to read. I really think she had so much fun working there as an intern. Too bad it was just for a short time as it was only a requirement for school. I'm sure if she'd apply for a position in that TV network, she'd get a job as many have already known her and has seen her work.

I am a TV and movie buff and I have always been a fan of reality shows like Big Brother, American Idol, Dancing with the Stars, MasterChef US and other reality shows. I never would want to miss any of the episodes of these shows, and I do, I'd wait for their replays so that I won't miss a thing. Sometimes though, I would wonder if these shows really are a mirror to what is real. I mean, are they really for real? If only I could get to see open casting calls or maybe personally line up at auditions so that I can really tell if these are real.

I would like to think that it is the prize and fame that thousands of people try their luck in free casting calls and auditions. It is really enticing though but just thinking of the thousands of other competitors, your luck may just be like looking for a needle in a haystack. Well, that's probably the reason why I just sit back, relax and enjoy these shows, I wouldn't want to go pressing my body in those auditions, besides I do not have the talent and probably would not pass any casting call or audition. As for me, I'd rather enjoy watching these movies and shows with my family.

Every once in a while I'll try to do something nice for my wife and cook dinner. I'm not that great of a cook so she doesn't let me do it all that often, but I think I'm finding meals that are better slowly as I go along. I thought it was about that time again and decided that I could fix my mother's spaghetti recipe as something extra special.

Even though I knew how to make the entrees, I decided that I also needed to make some sides to go with it too, at least some kind of bread. When I get a chance to unwind in the evenings, I like to watch a few episodes of one of my favorite shows, "The Nanny". This is an older show but I still enjoy watching the reruns. I like to watch this show because it is humorous and the characters are believable. The content of this show is also acceptable for children, so I can watch it even if my children are awake.

In "The Nanny", Fran Drescher plays the main character, a nanny for a wealthy family. There are three children, the father, the butler, and the father's assistant. The nanny tends to get herself in a few problems that usually relate to the father, who is a producer of Broadway plays. There is underlying tension between the father and the nanny, since they are always trying to ignore the romantic tension that is between them. As a side plot, the butler and the assistant are also attracted to each other, but chose to insult each other constantly in order to ignore the tension.
