We attended Edward Scott McMichael memorial service last Wednesday night, November 12th at Quest Field. It was a heartbreaking moment. There were thousands of people bid their goodbye's to the Tuba Man. Edward McMichael, also known the Tuba Man, a fixture who performed for years outside Seattle sports games, died Monday after suffering injuries from an Oct. 25 beating. To those of you know didn't know, Tuba Man became an icon with his wild hats and bucket of change outside sports events. He played “Itsy Bitsy Spider” when it rained and the theme from “Chariots of Fire” even when the home team lost. “Thumbs up!” he insisted when you were not so sure. “Want to be a part of it tonight?” he beseeched, a call for coins and maybe transformation. May his soul rest in peace! Labels: News, Uncategorized |
